Soap…

Everyone uses soap on a daily basis. And everyone gets to the point where I was this morning.

It probably sounds familiar, because it will happen every now and then.
Truly every single bottle I opened was empty or far on it’s way to be… First I went out of the shower to get a new shampoo bottle, than I had to get a new shower gel bottle and after that my I went out to answer my phone.
These actions do have a funny effect when you leave the shower, because when you do the whole bathroom is wet! But anyway, that’s just something that happens every few weeks, it just caught me that all the bottles are always empty at the same time…

How does that happen? xx

Pinksteren again…

When I had put the picture below on my desktop I thought about it again. It was at the family weekend, it was unbelievably hot. So we went to the lovely beach of Hellevoetsluis…
The water looked so incredibly inviting, so we decided to run in!

And then… OH DEAR LORD! We ran out as quickly as possible!! It was screaming cold!

Truly refreshing though, just a tiny bit too cold. Strange how you can want something so bad (like having a refreshing dive) but at the moment it’s just now quite what you expected. Strange huh?! xx

The picture of the creme brulee

Sorry, I thought that I had uploaded the picture in my previous blog, But it didn’t work out quite as I thought. So here it is, the picture of the lavender creme brulee. xx\"Lavender Creme Brulee\"

Lavender creme brulee

While I was doing research for our soap store, I came ’round the official Jamie Oliver Website. The very first thing that caught my eye was the picture below with the subscription “Lavender Creme Brulee”

I immediately thought of crosslab! I think that the smell of lavender is very important in soap. This smell makes you more relaxed. And I d believe that eating a bit of it might have the same influence…
Where I work we also have ‘rose & vanilla’ taste. I like it when flowers and food come together. It gives the food a twist.

The taste of the food turns special, people get interested, it’s a consumers magnet if you ask me! xx

Now I think about it…

I just wrote about these nasty smells and I thought about one nice one there was yesterday. I was at work again, I went outside to see if everyone was satisfied but a lot of people had moved inside because it was raining a bit.
I’m not sure what happens when it rains, but it seems like everything starts to smell more. I do like that smell, but I just can’t describe it very well…
do you know what smell I’m talking about? x

Work

It feels like I’m moaning all the time, but that’s really not my intention… it’s just that there are more nasty smells than good smells!
Like last tuesday, I had to be the ’sous-chef’ (making the starters and desserts) and afterwards clean the kitchen.
When you clean it, you have to use regular soap and some sort of bleach-pil (in dutch it’s ‘chloor’, like what you smell in the swimming pool).
This must be used because only then the kitchen will be totally clean. The downside is that it – like other smells – really tends to get into your skin. After washing my hands, taking a shower, using hand cream and god knows what; the next morning they still smelled like ‘chloor’

Well enough whining for now… there are just too many smells to write about! xx

Pinksteren

Last weekend it was ‘Pinksteren’! I went away for the weekend, which was lovely also thanks to the superb weather!
Right, the thing that I want to write about, in a tent with this kind of weather isn’t the best thing to do… Well it do is a great deal of fun, but it’s just too warm in the mornings!
When the sun has been shining on your tent since six in the morning you really are melting by the time it gets eight a ‘clock. But we can’t complain, thins way we really made a great use of the time we had!

I love this kind of weather, I also like the way it slows people down. When you take a good look around you can see all the sweaty people – some of them feeling uncomfortable – making slow movements so that they won’t sweat more than they already do.

I like this weather the best when there is also slight bit of fresh wind to cool you down. When it’s just heat all the time, it can give you the feeling like you can’t lift a finger without drowning in sweat. But when there is a lovely breeze everyone can keep their head cool! x

Blauwe regen…

The ‘blauwe regen’ plant is back again! (the one that’s on the picture)
I came home from work a few nights ago and all of a sudden I smelled the wonderful smell again. It just makes me so happy! Just like I said before, it just makes me feel good. The smell is liked to home, but also to nice places I’ve been – like Rome.

I think I might do a little research among friends which smells they relate to feelings/people/places/whatever… xx

Koninginnedag

Koninginnedag (the queens birthday) I had to work at the cafe. It was a really fun day, busy but fun.
At the start of the day it was raining cats and dogs, so there was absolutely nobody who came in for a drink (because they simply didn’t leave their houses in the first place). But then the sun came out, and they started with beers. Incredibly how early some people can start drinking beers.

I don’t mind working on days like this, although I can’t party myself. It’s just a lot of fun with my collegues and we had a great laugh about all the people who got drunk halfway through the day.
Drinking beer like it’s water. A lot of drunken guys who wanted to take a picture with the bartenders made a great mess behind the bar. Everything was sticky of the beer, including me. The record of beers in a short amount of time has been broken again and as I went home I could still smell it on my hands. Lucky me, my shift ended at six, so I could leave before everyone started ordering food and would get more and more drunk.

Always like such days… xx

Soap!

About the ’smoking in bars’ thing again. I had to work last wednesday and took a shower afterwards (obviously, ’cause I smelled like an ashtray) And while I was in the shower I thought about the soap-thing – among a dozen other things. I washed my hair, brushed my teeth and had forgotten if I had washed my hair or not.

Really great, because the smell of smoke is so intriguing that – when I have forgotten it, it happens more often – and I think I can smell the shampoo on my hair. But unfortunately not…
The smell is so strong that I just wash my hair twice! xx
